This set is one of the oddities in BRIO World. It's comparatively huge compared to the layouts people usually build. That leads us to believe that it sticks out like a sore thumb, but that's only because most people build disproportionally small layouts. The roller coaster is not too big, our layouts are too small ;)
It's still very single-purpose though. You can't integrate it into a layout easily but I guess kids like it. It probably sold pretty well, judging by how often you see it being sold on secondhand websites. There is a hump in the plastic curves, which adds a subtle effect to the cars going down the roller coaster, but if you integrate the curves into another layout, electric engines will have trouble getting over the hump.
The BRIO genius here is that whenever a car comes down the roller coaster, it will always stop dead center in front of the exit. That is a nice touch.
