This set was sold in 2016 but I don't believe it appeared in catalogs. BRIO had already started their transition to a more modern Safari line-up the year prior with 33720 Safari Railway Set, 33721 Safari Crossing, 33722 Safari Train, 33723 Safari Vehicle and 33724 Giraffe & Wagon but they must have had a bunch of the old items in stock. They decided to swap out the old-style animal wagon for the newer giraffe & wagon and be done with it.
