Plastic container

The plastic containers were a terrible idea that somehow made it into production. I suppose in the never-ending march for making products cheaper and cutting out as much wood as possible, BRIO in 2019 decided to replace the open cargo containers they had in the previous decade with closed plastic ones. The drawbacks are a reduction in play-value for the children, they cannot store cargo blocks inside the containers anymore and drive cargo around, as well as an incompatibility with BRIO's dump trucks and the Container & Crane Wagon because this container does not fit the ship's cargo space. Luckily only a handful of products made it onto shelves with these types of containers. BRIO partially reversed course by going back to wooden blocks for cargo, but this time ditching the plastic containers that would go around them... but rather paint a container livery straight onto the wooden block.
